Raleigh for a city of its size has a crime index only slightly higher than the national average at 342 in 2008 compared to 320.9 nationally in the same year. Police Chief, Harry Dolan and the 728 sworn officers that work so diligently should be commended for their devotion to making Raleigh a great place to live and work. Sherriff Donnie Harrison who serves all of Wake County also deserves praise for keeping Raleigh and the surrounding areas safe.
